Maureen Kelly (Gill) Hope Tribute Fund

Maureen Kelly (Gill) was born on May 22, 1942 and died on 01 March 2008 age 65. She is a much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She devoted her life to her family and lost her husband Alan to leukemia when they were both just 39 years old, leaving her to bring up 4 children. She was a very brave and courageous lady. She said her good bye's planned her funeral and made sure her children were all taken care of. She also asked that we made a donation to The Christie for the love and care she was shown in her final months of life.

Thoughts

Gareth and I are still fundraising for the Christie Mum. It was 2 years ago now when the proud moment i had been working so hard to achieve arrived. I hard raised over £18.000 and got to put a leaf on the Tree of Hope in the gardens at The Christie with your name on it. It was a very emotional day and all your family was there for this moment-as occasion. I even timed it so your blue eyed boy Lee was over from France. It's a day your would have been so proud of. We have had so say goodbye to Brenda and June who both had treatment at The Christie over the last year. Each time mum as hard as it was I went to their funeral to represent you and our family. I am hoping when I hand over my fundraising donation in the next week or so I will have a total raised of over £23.000. Everyday is still a struggle living in a world without you in it mum. It doesn't get easier i have just learnt how to cope with it. I love you so very much mum and talk and think about you all the time. Your loving daughter Lynn xxxx
